Cycling and bicycle tours in the upper Weinviertel region

Portugieser cycling path

The ‘Portugieser’ cycling path is about 70 km long and leads from Mailberg through the Weinviertel to Immendorf, then to Wullersdorf and Hetzmannsdorf. Over Schöngrabern and Windpassing the path leads you to Grund, where numerous farmers offer regional products.

From Pernersdorf the route leads you through the picturesque Pulkautal valley – on the trail of Alfred Komarek’s ‘Inspektor Polt’ (character of the Austrian crime film “Himmel, Polt und Hölle”). In Hadres the longest cellar lane of the Weinviertel region is worth a ride. Then the path leads you back to Mailberg and the Schlosshotel.
